I’m Ryan Hein, a Marine Corps veteran and seasoned software engineer with 23 years of hands-on experience in designing scalable backend systems and developing data-driven solutions. My journey began early, with a deep-rooted passion for technology that evolved alongside my professional life. At 17, I enlisted in the Marine Corps, where I developed my discipline, resilience, and a unique problem-solving mindset. I graduated from the Defense Language Institute in Persian-Farsi, a challenging accomplishment that prepared me for complex problem-solving in high-pressure environments.
Even before my military career, I was already immersed in tech. At 12, I started my first web development company, offering services to businesses in Europe. I launched a web hosting business and built a reputation for delivering innovative solutions at a young age. This early entrepreneurial spirit continues to drive me today.
During my career, I have contributed to mission-critical systems for various global clients. Whether building high-availability Kubernetes deployments or leading the development of real-time applications, I pride myself on being a reliable, creative, and forward-thinking engineer. My passion for technology isn’t limited to professional work. I’ve delved into game development, creating mods and maps for games like Command & Conquer: Renegade and Halo, and most recently, building my own 2D browser-based game, Echos of Eldoria, using Pixi.js and React.
Beyond the keyboard, I find balance in life by exploring the great outdoors. You can often find me scuba diving, surfing, or simply enjoying time with my family under the Florida sun. My adventures fuel my creativity and remind me of the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
